Happy longest day.
Hi Everyone,
Happy first day of summer!!! Although…it has felt like summer since about March. I will take it either way! The past month and a half have flown by as expected. As much as I loved being in classes, it has been pretty great not having to stress out over tests, papers, presentations, etc. The semester ended on a pretty great note with good grades. I was pretty dang pleased with my first year in grad school. To round out a great school year, Jon and I took a trip to the Superior Hiking Trail for a few days of camping and hiking. To make it even more awesome, I came back from the trip with an engagement ring!!! Ahh crazy!
Since then, time has been filled with some intense wedding planning. Its funny because I tend to be a perfectionist in certain things. I always thought that I would be one stressed out bride when it came to wedding planning. I am suprising myself with how easy and fun this whole process has been. Its pretty stupid actually when you see people totally FREAKING out over the littlest things. Those nit-picky details really don’t matter in the end. To continue with more wedding planning, I am leaving for a mini vacation to Savannah, Georgia tomorrow! Yay vacation!!! We will be getting married there next year, so hopefully we can knock out a bunch of planning and things will continue going smoothly.
Other than working and wedding planning, I am trying to prepare everthing for my super awesome master’s project this fall. I will be in Valdivia, Chile from August to the end of November working on a project looking at Leptospirosis. As each day goes by, I get more and more nervous…there are still a lot of experiments to plan and learn. Most importantly, my spanish is slightly rusty. I keep telling myself that I need to practice more, but then the laziness kicks in and I continue to embrace English. Hopefully I can do power Spanish learning in the next 2 months!
Overall, the next 10 months are going to be busy, exciting, and filled with lots of life changes. Hopefully I will continue blogging throughout the project and I can report on all the crazy and exciting things that I encounter.
Until next time, enjoy this lovely long day!
