Every child deserves a healthy life
In August, a newborn Minnesota baby began his journey with the largest and longest investigation of the health and development of America’s children.
The National Children’s Study (NCS) will follow 100,000 children and their families for 21 years to learn how genes, the environment, and even fetal life play a role in increasingly common conditions like diabetes, asthma, obesity, and
autism.
School of Public Health professor Patricia McGovern leads the Ramsey County NCS study center, one of 105 in the United States chosen to contribute data to this ground-breaking exploration that may change the way we understand chronic illnesses.
